Importing photos and videos from a URL is one way to add media while creating a post in Loomly Post Builder. Use a link that points directly to the media file, rather than to a page that displays or embeds it.

Choose a direct file link

URL import supports photos and videos. For a video, the link must end in .mp4 or .mov. YouTube video URLs are not supported.

  • Photos: Paste a direct link to the photo file you want to add.
  • Videos: Paste a direct link ending in .mp4 or .mov.
  • YouTube: Use another source for a YouTube video; it cannot be imported from a URL in Loomly.

Import media from a URL

  1. Create a post in Post Builder, then select the option to add media from a URL.
  2. Paste a direct link to the photo or video file you want to import.
  3. Review the file type before importing. Video links must end in .mp4 or .mov.
  4. After adding the media, continue creating the post. You can save it, send it for approval, schedule it, or publish it on the selected channels.

Other media sources in Post Builder

Post Builder also lets you select media from your Loomly Library, Giphy, Unsplash, Google Drive, or your device. For current URL-import guidance and media upload options, see How to Upload Media in Post Builder.
