In this Loomly Success Story, we had the opportunity to speak with Greg Clark, Head of Marketing and Communications at, The Scottish Institute of Theatre, Dance, Film and Television. Formerly known as MGA Academy of Performing Arts in Livingston, Scotland, the organization adopted the new name The Scottish Institute in April 2024.

In 2022, Greg adopted Loomly as the primary social media management tool for The Scottish Institute. What were you able to do with Loomly that you couldn’t do before?

“I’m able to do so much more because of the time that is being saved. I can sit on a Monday morning and have my social posts ready for the week by lunchtime. Whereas before, social posts could be a two-day job. It allows me to free up time to do my job.

"As the head of the department, I shouldn’t necessarily be the one creating this content. I should be the one signing off on the content. But because it’s a relatively new marketing team, it means my time is really valuable.

Being able to gain a day and a half and not having to worry about social posting is a godsend."

💡Loomly Tip: Loomly provides multiple flexible approval workflows, ensuring your content is smoothly published and reaches your target audience effectively.

What are your favorite Loomly features?

“Our main social channels are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. And being able to put the words and just tweak it, that’s revolutionary.

Every social post should take about 20 minutes and you’re getting four done in maybe half an hour because you’ve got the basis there and you just have to shape it to that specific channel."

💡Loomly Tip: Loomly supports multiple social media platforms, plus custom channels with the help of our Zapier integration, which allows you to connect to platforms like Tumblr, Reddit, and more.

What is the first thing that stuck out to you about Loomly?

“Being able to post by putting the generic content and then moving on into fine-tuning. When you [schedule on] Facebook, it’s very much just a Facebook post. But if you go on Loomly, you can change it to a Twitter post with Twitter handles, you’ve got Instagram handles and hashtags, and you can make the tone of voice different for the LinkedIn post. So that was the first thing that stuck out to me.”

💡Loomly Tip: Loomly’s Post Builder allows you to customize content to suit each specific social media channel. Edit images and videos, include hashtags, and take advantage of channel-specific capabilities like adding Instagram Collaborators or LinkedIn polls. You can even implement audience targeting for supported channels, ensuring your content reaches relevant followers.

What do you love most about Loomly?

“The ease of use, the user-friendliness. Having tried other [social media schedulers] before, they’re clunky. I mean, they all do the same thing, but it’s like driving a new car. You have to get used to it all over again and then some cars drive better than others.

I’ve grown through my career with [Loomly] because no matter where I go next, that’s something I’ll take with me. It’s an essential part of a marketing toolkit, as far as I’m concerned."
