Post Sponsoring lets you configure a Meta campaign for a Facebook post in Loomly. It uses the Facebook Page and Meta Ads account connected to that Calendar. For background on the terminology, see our definitions of sponsored posts and Facebook Ads.
Before you sponsor a post
Connect the Facebook Page and Meta Ads account you will use to the Calendar. When the account is connected, select the Meta Ads account that will fund the sponsorship. If Post Sponsoring is not available, check that the Calendar has permission to promote posts and that a Meta Ads account is connected.
A post must publish successfully before Loomly can create its Meta campaign. Facebook also evaluates whether the published post is eligible for promotion. A valid setup in Loomly does not make every Facebook post eligible.
How to sponsor a Facebook post
- In Calendar Settings, connect or reconnect the Facebook Page, then select the Meta Ads account for the Calendar.
- Create or edit a Facebook post in Loomly.
- Open Target Audience and Promote on Facebook, then choose Post Sponsoring.
- Select Show Sponsoring Options to add campaign settings to the post.
- Enter the lifetime budget. This is the maximum amount configured for the campaign through its end time, in the currency of the connected Meta Ads account.
- Choose when the sponsorship starts and ends. You can start when the post is published or choose a start time. An end time is required, cannot be before the post's publish time, and must be at least 24 hours after the start or publish time.
- Set the audience. At least one location is required. If you select an EU location, provide the ad beneficiary and ad payer.
- Review the spend confirmation, then schedule or publish the post.
Review the sponsorship
The confirmation identifies the configured amount that will be spent from the Meta Ads Manager account when the post is published. After publishing, review the campaign details and budget in Meta Ads Manager.
Campaign validation
Loomly validates the lifetime budget, location, dates, and required EU details before the post can be scheduled or published. Promotion also requires a connected Meta Ads account and an eligible, successfully published Facebook post. If the post is not eligible for promotion, update the post or use Meta Ads Manager to review the available options.
